  • Donating cookies for the PTA staff meal before the 11/21 Parent Meet & Greet and donating a pie for faculty and staff to enjoy over Thanksgiving break.  We collected 25 pies and 16 sweet treats. Here's a photo of some of the goodies and a photo of some of the happy recipients.  
  • Supporting your student's love of reading and buying $2,093 in Spirit Wear during the Book Fair!  Here's a photo of Hoover's Special Education Team showing their school spirit on Twin Day.

  • Making the holidays special for several Hoover families through the Hoover Holiday Gift Drive. Here's a photo of all of the presents.
  • Donating cookies for the for the Hoover staff cookie exchange and holiday party.
  • Donating $20-$25 gift cards for Hoover staff end of year gifts.  We met our goal of providing gift cards for every Hoover staff member!
  • Joining the PTA!  We have raised $27,854.64 through 336 family memberships and 45 faculty memberships.
  • Attending the last PTA General Membership Meeting on 5/9.  Click here for the PTA President's presentation.  
  • Providing dessert for the Hoover staff appreciation lunch on 5/11.
  • Participating in the PTA fundraising Spirit Night at Fire Work on 5/12.
  • A TERRIFIC Read-A-Thon!  The final week class winners are Period 7 Kane (6th), Period 1 Chai-onn (7th), and Period 7 Martin (8th). The top 2 readers from each grade are: Jody Abanulo & Iman (6th), Jenny Ryu & Donald Hue (7th), and Fatemeh Tofigh & Arianna Raney (8th). The Hoover Staff top readers are Gina Blake & Ryan Kwak.  Other weekly winners and more details are available under the Readathon tab.
  • The generous donation of Coach Doug owner of Coach Doug Academy (coachDoug.net) for the limo ride to Shake Shack for the top readers and to Chad Anthony owner of The Pretzel Bakery in Cabin John (https://www.thepretzelbakery.com/) for generously donating over 100 pretzels for class pretzel parties.
  • Participating in the Klay Spirit Night on 4/12 and attending the PTA, Arts and English Departments Heart's the Arts on 4/13.

  • Participating in the Spirit Nights at Ledo and Potomac Pizza.
  • Attending Hoover's STEAM Night with a big thank you from the Math & Science Departments for your generous donation of items from the Hoover Staff's Amazon Gift Registry.  And for attending the Social Studies Department's wonderful Social Studies showcase.
  • Volunteering to hand out Week 1 Read-A-Thon prizes and the Pretzel Bakery in Cabin John for donating their delicious pretzels to the top classes for Week 3.
  • The 54 families who represented 29 different countries at the World Expo-Taste of Hoover.  It was an incredible celebration!
  • Attending the Hoover PTA General Membership Meeting on 1/10.
  • Participating in the final fundraising Spirit Night on 6/14 from 4-9 pm at Potomac Pizza (Falls Road).
